This is the number one thing keeping people away from reaching their fitness goals. People tend to be too impatient with their exercise plans and dieting, desiring instant results after a few weeks of doing their best.
No matter what we do in life, we will not achieve success unless we work at it day in and day out. Being consistent with your training and nutrition is what will bring you closer to achieving your fitness and health goals!
It is difficult to stay consistent with something you don’t enjoy though. So figure out what type of exercise you love doing. If you don’t like running...then don’t run! Try weightlifting. If you don’t like weightlifting try Zumba, powerlifting, swimming, calisthenics, cycling. Do what you love doing and what makes you feel good because you will be more likely to follow through with a workout and stay consistent with exercising.
If dieting is a difficult area for you, then start viewing the way you eat as developing healthy eating habits. You could set little progress goals to achieve this by trying to hit your daily macros or even just adjusting your meals to add more fiber, protein, or whole foods into your diet. The more consistent you are with fueling your body with the proper nutrients it needs the more progress you will see with the hard work you are putting in at the gym!
